Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Mentio ("we", "us") covering your use of the Mentio service at mentio.dev, including the dashboard, API, and MCP server. By creating an account or using the service you accept them.
The service
Mentio monitors publicly available posts on developer platforms for keywords you configure, classifies them with AI, and surfaces them in a dashboard, an API, notifications, and integrations. Sources, freshness, and features may change as third-party platforms and our product evolve.
Your account
Keep your credentials and API keys secret; anything done with them is attributed to your organization. Provide accurate account information and keep it current. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service.
Acceptable use
- Use the service only for lawful purposes.
- Do not resell or redistribute the monitored content as a data product; the service is for your organization's own listening and engagement.
- Do not use Mentio to harass, dox, or surveil individuals, or in ways that violate the terms of the monitored platforms.
- Do not probe, overload, or disrupt the service; respect documented API limits.
Third-party content and platforms
Mentions originate from third-party platforms. We do not own or endorse that content, cannot guarantee its accuracy or continued availability, and depend on those platforms' APIs and policies. AI classification (relevance, sentiment, intent) is probabilistic and can be wrong; treat it as an aid, not a fact.
Pricing and billing
Pricing is usage based, in EUR: a monthly price per tracked keyword, prorated per day, with a pooled allowance of relevant mentions included per keyword, and a fee per additional block of relevant mentions past the pool (partial blocks are free). Current numbers are listed atmentio.dev/#pricing. A free tier with a limited number of keywords is available and may change. Billing cycles are calendar months (UTC). Payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record; their terms apply to the payment itself. If payment fails, your account may be limited to free-tier capacity. We will give notice before price increases take effect.
Your data and our IP
You own your configuration and the data you provide; you grant us the license needed to operate the service on it. We (and our licensors) own the service, its software, and its branding. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve the service.
Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that every relevant post will be found, that classification is accurate, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Termination
You can stop using the service and cancel at any time; cancellation stops future keyword charges from the next day (proration) and the current cycle's usage is billed. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the service, with notice where reasonable.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the product or by email, and continued use after the effective date is acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, and disputes belong to the courts of Barcelona, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
